Designtex at Design Days 2025

We had much to celebrate in Chicago this June—our new showroom in the Fulton Market district, our first Design Days and Ribbon, our recent collaboration with Sophie Smallhorn, winning a HIP award

Located on the 5th floor at 811 W. Fulton Street, the light-filled space provides a minimal backdrop upon which to showcase the brand’s vibrant mix of products – from textiles to wallcoverings and more – in a setting that welcomes the design community to interact with materials, color, and pattern.

Designtex worked with New York-based architectural designer David Ruperti and industrial designer Henry Julier on the new expressive showroom. Through a series of careful edits and additions, the concrete structure was emphasized, revealing an open, gallery-like space. Large windows further add to the ambiance, with views that span the surrounding Fulton Market neighborhood.

This year, we welcomed visitors “In the Garden” with a grouping the most expressive fabrics from our range into vignettes that highlight the visual impact textiles can achieve, from lush botanical prints to energetic geometric patterns and rich, warm solids. Visitors were welcomed with a custom mural using the Charley Harper ladybug, in addition to a gallery display of imagery to showcase the incredible process behind converting post-consumer wool textile waste from the fashion industry into new product for the Wool Library collection.

“With our new Chicago showroom, we have shaped a place for cultivating curiosity and building dialogue with our guests – a place for the design community to gather, study material options, and discover the perfect selection for projects”
