Case Study
Ala Moana Hotel
Honolulu, HI
Designtex worked alongside Group 70 on the design development of the Ala Moana Hotel, delivering project-specific solutions aligned with the clients concept, spatial parameters and color palette. This process involved curating and creative development of imagery inspired by local flower leis and regional botanicals, resulting in original artwork concepts for the room suites and corridor walls. Our team finalized print-ready digital artwork to support an effortless move into production.

Inspiration & Artwork Development
Inspired by the artistry of traditional Hawaiian lei making, Designtex curated leis from local lei makers, photographed them to create, one-of-a-kind wallcoverings. Collaborating with local lei makers each piece was then transformed through layered graphic treatments—combining watercolor textures, expressive line work, and soft translucency—to evoke a modern, artful interpretation of this cherished cultural symbol.
